In the past many blacks and African-Americans were ridiculed for receiving surgeries to create a more European appearance. Experts say, however, that the Michael Jackson poster child days are over. Due to TV and internet advocated awareness many blacks are going to surgeons and asking to enhance their natural looks. Men and women alike come in wanting to create a balance in their body while still maintaining their “ethnic beauty.” An example of this would be an upper lip augmentation in order to alleviate a small upper lip with a larger bottom lip. Major surgeries for the black minority include rhinoplasty or a nose job, eyelid surgery and liposuction.

This is amazing so now they are trying to enhance there features. Its funny how times changes people I would of never actually guess this to occur.
The other day I heard, what was suppose to be a joke, which is related to your post…”A black girl’s butt augmentation is the new white girl’s breast implants.” With shows like Flavor of Love, I Love New York, Real Chance of Love and The Love of Ray J…all these naive African-American women are running to plastic surgeons so they can look like Bootz, Danger, Buffie the Body, New York and all these ridiculously damn near fake women so they can receive attention regardless of its intentions. The feel if their looks are enhanced then so will their status in life…like Kanye West said in Workout Plan “ladies if you follow these instructions exactly, You might bear to pull you a rapper, a NBA player, Man, at least a dude wit’ a car, So first of all we gon’ work on the stomach” hence liposuction and so forth…ridiculous.
I suppose since there are more African American surgeons, theres more openness to out of the norm procedures. Now there are more possibilities to enhance different facial features then once thought of.
